Tennis Lessons in Arlington, VA.
Arlington has the densest tennis demand in Northern Virginia and an uneven court supply, so knowing which court to use when is half the battle. I coach kids and adults across the county.
Arlington is packed with federal and tech professionals who want to play, and the public courts get busy. The county's inventory is a little uneven, so part of coaching here is steering you to the right court at the right time. Virginia Highlands is the anchor, and the neighborhood parks fill the gaps.
Where I teach tennis in Arlington
Where I teach in Arlington, and what each is good for:
- Virginia Highlands Park. Arlington's main public complex: six lighted courts plus two practice walls, open into the evening. My default for Arlington lessons and for players who want real court space.
- Towers Park. Four lighted courts and two practice walls. A reliable, slightly quieter alternative to Virginia Highlands.
- Glebe Road Park. Three lighted courts, a couple shared with pickleball. Central and handy for a quick session.
- Hayes Park. Two lighted courts in a small neighborhood park. Good for a focused one-on-one.
- Lyon Village Park. Two lighted courts open until 10 p.m. plus a rentable practice wall, in the Clarendon area for after-work hits.
How I coach tennis in Arlington
Most of my Arlington students are working professionals fitting tennis around a full week: Clarendon and Ballston evenings, Crystal City lunch breaks. So court choice matters. Virginia Highlands and Towers when you want space, the neighborhood courts when you want a quick hour close to home. One heads-up I give Arlington players: the Bluemont Park courts are closed for a renovation running through 2027, so we use Virginia Highlands instead.
Kids and adult tennis lessons in Arlington
Whether it is a child's first time on a court or an adult rebuilding a game, I coach both in Arlington. Coach Arun teaches movement and biomechanics first, then strokes that hold up under pressure. See kids tennis lessons, adult tennis lessons, or private tennis lessons for how each works.
I also coach nearby in Falls Church, McLean, and Alexandria.
FAQs about tennis lessons in Arlington, VA
Where do you teach tennis in Arlington?
Mainly Virginia Highlands Park, the county's main public complex with six lighted courts and practice walls, plus Towers, Glebe Road, Hayes, and Lyon Village. Note that Bluemont Park's courts are closed for renovation through 2027.
Arlington courts get crowded. Can you still get a good lesson?
Yes. Part of what I do is time the lesson and pick the court so we are not fighting for space. Virginia Highlands and Towers have the most courts, and the neighborhood parks are good for off-peak hours.
Do you coach busy professionals in Arlington?
Constantly. A lot of my Arlington students fit tennis around demanding jobs. We use focused sessions close to where you live or work and build a game without needing a club membership.
